QUESTIONS?
Wondering what to expect?
We've got some answers.
Each Part of the Plot mystery includes a 3.5 hour hosted experience with character booklets, personal goals, secrets, and themed props. Your host guides you as you interact, uncover secrets, and become part of the story. Public tickets also include a light meal.
Part of the Plot is perfect for anyone looking for something more interactive than a traditional party or dinner. Our mysteries are great for friends, families, birthdays, holiday gatherings, community groups, apartment community events, and other social occasions.
Our games are suitable for ages 12+, though
public events may target specific age groups.
Check the event registration details for age
recommendations and themes.
Private parties can accommodate teens, adults, or
mixed-age groups. Players should be able to read and
understand character materials independently, though
younger players may participate with help from an adult
or older player.
Absolutely not! The games are designed so that anyone can participate. You don't have to be an actor to become part of the story.
For public games, the general area
is listed with the event registration details. The
exact address and your character assignment will be
emailed to you no later than 3 days before the event.
For private games, you choose the
venue and provide the space. See the private party
FAQ for space requirements.
We currently serve locations within about 30 minutes of Idaho Falls. Outside that area? Reach out—we may still be able to accommodate you!
Absolutely! Our games are available to purchase, so you can host your own game with your friends, family, or group. Some of our games are created by independent game designers, while others will be original games written by Part of the Plot.
Please review our Guest Guidelines before your game. They cover a few simple rules to help everyone stay safe, respect the space, and enjoy the experience.
You provide the space and the cast! Your venue should have approximately 800 square feet or more, with room for guests to mingle and have private conversations. Your home, backyard, apartment community room, clubhouse, or a rented event space can all work well. Food and decorations are optional. See “What if I choose to provide food?” below for tips.
Our games are designed to keep the action moving! We recommend a buffet-style meal or finger foods that guests can enjoy while mingling and interacting with one another. A formal sit-down meal isn't recommended.
No problem! Your group size can vary within the game's recommended range. How you assign characters can affect how easily we can accommodate changes:
